So I gave it some time. I come back to find more distortions and bullshit about me and my position. I won’t take responsibility for anything in this thread not posted by me. I’ve tried to clarify this, and I understand that the fact that a pileon of **RM** did in fact occur in this thread makes this difficult to accept, but I didn’t start this thread to dogpile the newbie. I also didn’t ‘set the tone’ in my OP. As far as I’m concerned, the tone had already been set in the ‘personal experience’ thread started by **mhendo**. That thread had already gone far into ad hominem territory, with **RM** attacking **iampunha** , **Munch** , **RexDart** and **Bricker** among others. Any pileon that occurred had already begun before this thread was posted. I didn’t start anything. I moved it. Until now your tactic has been to talk about Pat Robertson whenever anyone says you’re changing the subject to talk about Pat Robertson. Above, you say I had a hysterical hissy fit (I assume you’re referring to the OP of this thread). I submit that your very next post above amounts to nothing more than a whining, puling hissy fit because **kabbes** had the nerve to say that there’s a valid point of view other than your own. You’re throwing a tantrum because I hurt your feelings by starting this thread. You go over the same, tired, hashed-out ground again. I guess you’re hoping that the rubberneckers here won’t page back to the first few posts of this thread where you tried to misrepresent my OP and your previous posts to make me look like the drooling idiot you want me to be; we’ve already been over it. Ah, I love it: “C’mon Jeff, what’s the point of being devious when anyone can check the first page of this thread and see you are just full of crap.” Indeed. I’ve got nothing invested in you, **Reverend Mykeru**. I started this thread because I thought there was a legitimate and interesting discussion to be had in the one you had hijacked, because I thought you had made some bad arguments there, and because I had something to say about that. I’ve said what I had to say. The thread grew from there and took off in directions that I wouldn’t have approved of if I had had any say. I am sorry that this thread provided a vehicle for posters with a bone to pick with you to air some baseless accusations. I didn’t intend for it to be used that way but it certainly shouldn’t have come as a surprise to me given the aggressive way I titled the thread. I see that you only have the one approach here, and that you’re locked into it. I won’t be surprised when you respond to this post spitefully and maliciously, continuing to distort what I’m saying, what you’ve said, and attacking me personally. If that means you ‘win,’ then so be it. I’ve already explained what goals I had in mind when I started this thread, and those goals have been accomplished. I’m still disappointed in your adoring fans, but maybe that’s just my lack of perspective talking. Good luck around the boards and I do hope that you (and others here) enjoy your stay; I wish I could say that I look forward to future interactions between us that are less acrimonious in nature, but I don’t. This train wreck started with the thread title. It grew into a pile-on by gutless, overemotional little assholes on someone who _refuses to cave_ to that. I have no problem standing up against the _lowest_ common denominator, and will gladly join another being “hassled” for their coherent, well-thought, and _substantiated_ point of view, if, in my opinion, it has merit. Call that the “Don Quixote” in me, but I hate the mindlessness of “community approval” simply for nothing more than the reaffirmation of same. I suddenly felt the need to come clean on a few points.[list=#][_]I like to toy with people and sometimes do so without being aware of it.[_]To my knowledge, this is the first time I’ve toyed with anyone on the SDMB.[_]I honestly never expected my first post in this thread to be taken as seriously as it was.[_]The real reason I took a break from this thread is that **Reverend** ’s continued defense of a non-existant attack was so bullish it completely flummoxed me and I had to take a break.I never intended to completely leave this thread, it’s too amusing.
