Alright. McVities’s Ginger Nut biscuits and Tomato Ketchup. Sorry. It does work. I’ve also heard that McDonald’s fries go very well with McDonald’s ice cream.

Before you judge me I might add that a nation which invented the PBJ has no firm place to stand in this debate. Any more for any more?

According to Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader, before PBJ the most common combo was peanut butter and bacon. Mmmmmmm.

I seem to like combining Jello with Jello brand vanilla pudding. I don’t see anything wrong with this, although I almost triggered a barf-fest in college when I ate it in the dining hall.

A trip to Graceland (home of Elvis, not the college) educated me on the benefits of the fried peanut butter and banana sandwich, the preferred sandwich of The King. I have a cold pbb an hour before I head to the gym to play basketball.

And while this isn’t a food combo, I get a lot of grief from my wife and my mom about a college innovation: Lipton Mouth-O-Soup. I’ll pop a boullion cube in my mouth and drink water to help it dissolve. My roomies and I considered that a dietary stable while in school.

Ack! Only 1 reply in and my suggestion’s been taken. Peanut butter and bacon is great!

The proper way is to make a sandwich out of it with fresh toasted bread, still warm enough to melt the peanut butter. C’est bon!

Baked macaroni & cheese with glazed Harvard beets. I just know that the grocery cashier is thinking _what in the hell is this guy going to make_ whe she sees me buying flour, milk, an assortment of cheeses & three or four jars of glazed beets.

Oven-baked chicken covered in cinnamon (as it’s baking).
Mom thinks I’m weird. I like it.

Then again, I used to make ice cream sandwiches - French vanilla ice cream and Millbrook bread.

Its not original, but it makes my dad wretch every time he sees it: ketchup on scrambled eggs.

I’m a big fan of ketchup and I also dunk grilled cheese into it.

I’ve never tried ketchup on Macaroni and Cheese, but my brother’s girlfriend thinks its tasty.

Other weird things: baked potatoes with broccoli and honey mustard; chicken marinated in worchestershire sauce, broiled with cheese, bacon, and honey mustard; and chef boyardee ravioli, right out of the can.

I cannot vouch for how this tastes, but my dad and a friend of his love white bread spread with sweetened condensed milk and a slice of onion on top.

Ew.

**)romansperson**, that reminds me: (former)Roommate would eat bread and milk - he would tear up about 8 slices of bread into a bowl and pour milk over the whole lot. Said it was good for an upset stomach. Bleah.

No wonder I could never keep bread or milk in the house.

Crumbled Regular Doritos covered with sweet hot mustard on potato bread.

Chocolate-covered potato chips are excellent.

I also like pizza with feta cheese and green olives as toppings. This grosses some of my lunchmates out.

My 2-yr old like to dip french fries in yogurt, something I thought was novel until my husband said he used to dip his fries into his shake. But he was unwilling to duplicate my son’s next move, which was dunking hamburger meat into the yogurt and eating that.

You won’t believe some of the old jello recipes there are to be found. Spinach and cottage cheese in a lime jello mold. Tuna salad in a lemon jello mold. I make none of this up.

Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

Homemade Guacamole.

Do NOT knock it…until you have tried it.

Sweet Pickles (Gherkins) and Super Sharp Cheddar cheese… mmmmm…mmmm…makes my mouth water.

White bread + liverwurst + ketchup = pure heaven

baked potato with cottage cheese…this one was a strange discovery for me. Before I found this combination I liked neither one. I still don’t like cottage cheese without a baked potato underneath it.

Try cooking kimchi in spaghetti sauce, then putting the whole thing on your favorite pasta. Yummy!

I can also recommend rolling kimchi, corn, and tuna in dried seaweed like a burrito. MMMM!

When I worked at Domino’s, I’d take a piece of raw onion and wrap it a slice of pepperoni. I only convinced one other guy to try it, but he agreed with me, it works.

In the same vein as “Lipton Mouth-O-Soup” above, I’ve always been partial to a concoction I call “M&M water,” which never fails to gross out my friends and family.

Simply put some M&Ms in a cup and then cover them up with ice-cold water about an inch higher than the M&M level. Wait for the candy coating to melt, then stir. It looks a little vile, but it’s really no different than sucking on the M&Ms till the coating comes off.

Note: I have never been able to eat this stuff made with Easter Holiday M&Ms. Instead of a nice dark red color, the water turns grayish-white. Eww.

Another one for the PB and bacon sandwich. Yum.

Peanut Butter and 'nanner sandwiches. Yum

Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch, milk and a big squirt of Hershey’s syrup. Stir and eat. Yum.

Graham crackers, spread with peanut butter, sprinkle with mini chocolate chips. Put them together like little sandwiches. Yum.

_All peanut butter in the above recipes MUST be Jif Extra Crunchy._

Vidalia onions, fresh-off-the-vine beefsteak tomatoes, both thinly sliced, on white bread with mayo (NOT Miracle Whip!!), sprinkle with kosher salt and black pepper.

Big glass of ice-cold chocolate milk and a big bowl of Utz’s regular potato chips. Do not mix, just eat, drink and enjoy.
M&M water? Oh, gross! 😉
