Aragorn’s arc seemed to take him from Chaotic Good to Lawful Good over the course of the 3 movies. The killing did seem dickish and OOC to me too however. Note I feel like D & D alignments way oversimplify things if applied to cinematic or literary characters (c.f. Moorcock’s Elric, whose own movie appears to be in Development Hell right now, and OOTS’s Belkar-yes, they’re nominally Chaotic Evil, yes, but).

Oh yes, the Path of the Dead with the goofy green ghouls. The idea to actually show it wasn’t so bad but the execution was awful. Then the weepy little Hobbits saying bye to Frodo. But nothing was worse than the bed-hopping Hobbits with the rest of the Fellowship watching and giving each other knowing smiles. Uggggh! I can’t watch it, I tell ya!
Those parts nearly ruined the movie for me and I was genuinely disappointed. Then I felt guilty for being such a loser. :smack:
I guess I’m lucky to have never read the books; I loved Return of the King!
