Well, that episode was dark, and we only saw a _fraction_ of the memories Rick wiped from Morty. The fact that Summer is so blasé about yet another “Scenario 4” happening really makes you wonder how many times they’ve gone through this. ---

I don’t think they had ever actually had a Scenario 4 yet, since Summer had to open the instructions first. And was Jerry’s memory on a video tape of some sort? That didn’t seem to make sense, given that it happened after the divorce (otherwise, what is Jerry doing in his apartment / hotel room / wherever he’s staying now?). ---

Yeah, it’s only implied, of course, but when I saw them switch realities back in episode six (the Cronenberg episode), I laughed out loud at the deus ex machina and the lampshading of it.“We get three or four more of these, tops.” That was back when we were only learning how screwed up this show could be. Season 3 is darker, but I’m liking it more than season 2, so far. ---
