Pretty good S4E1! Loved all the different kinds of alternative Ricks being awakened. Great to see Mr. Meeseeks again (his instant change of expression when Rick sicced him on \*Sturmbannfuhrer \*Morty was maybe the best moment of the show). Very funny to have Morty, guided by the death crystal, tentatively making his way through the world in such a way that he would die in Jessica’s presence (and then the post-credits reveal was _perfect_). The CMN chyron clearly referred to Morty as “Akira Boy.” Best lines: “Honey, stop raising your father’s cholesterol so you can take a hot funeral selfie.” “You \*are \*down with fascist dystopias, right?” “Hey hey, ho ho! Not cloning your grandpa has got to go!” “Stop asking questions, stop doing meta-commentary and just have fun!” “Kill this Nazi prick!” “There’s a lesson here and… I’m not the one that’s gonna figure it out.” “What, cover me in gasoline and spiders? Fine, yeah, I’m in.” ---

I read nothing about this episode and went in blind. Loved it, great episode. I really think it was a great standard adventure episode of the show. Loved the Kirkland Meeseeks. ---

Subtitles are quite frequently wrong, even when dealing with scripted performances. This is exacerbated by the fact that, in this particular instance, a lot of the dialogue is improvised or ad-libbed, meaning that the lines aren’t actually written down anywhere. So if the person writing the subtitles is working from the script, the script isn’t going to match the dialogue in the show. ---

CC for a sitcom is going to be much more accurate than any live event. To that end, ad-libbing doesn’t factor in whatsoever to the closed captioning for a recorded program. They aren’t ad-libbing it when it airs, and the CC isn’t done live as it airs. Let’s just re-evaluate the fact that this debate is that we believe our eyes over your ears and your defense is that what we heard and read are both wrong because one time you _saw someone mistype something during a live debate_. You’re stretching pretty far. It’s already established it was an Akira joke, with various call-backs. At any rate, are any of the shows available streaming yet, to rewatch? ---

I don’t think it’s sensitive, at all, you were just called out on the fact that you tried to say the fact that some of the dialog for the show was ad-libbed somecrazyhow factored into how EVEN MORE unreliable the CC would be–suggesting that the show was ad-libbed live on the air, and transcribed from that live airing. Which is preposterous. And you can’t do anything else at this point but double down on that preposterous stance. And again, all of this is in _defense of the impossibility that perhaps you misheard something_. Do you think, like…_maybe_…you misheard the line? Maybe the CC wasn’t totally wrong?
