# Rick Perry Needs to Shut Up

It was also the middle of Vietnam. As the US pulled out of Vietnam, defense spending fell something like 30%. So insane or not, its what the country did despite McGovern not winning the election.

Dunno, but the issue of “how far to the right has the USA moved in the past 50 years” is a favorite.
