[/QUOTE] Possibly, but the number of zombie threads that are re-awakened is tiny and most of them are done by accident. Do you have any indication that this is an ongoing problem across the SDMB? As I note, you have found an entire four instances that occurred in the course of two years in multiple Fora. Now that that poster’s actions have been called to our attention, we will probably take up the matter with him. How that translates into a need to create a policy of issuing Warnings to everyone who does that, I am not sure. You are suggesting a formal policy change to handle the (rare) actions of a single poster. I suggest that you are violating the Life Rule regarding DNKGWAS. ---

[/QUOTE] I don’t think this is what is being suggested. It certainly happens that posters inadvertently resurrect old threads. In these cases, nothing should be done except close the thread, suggesting that the poster instead start another one. On the other hand, if a poster is repeatedly resurrecting old threads – and everything indicates that he is well aware that these threads are zombies --, maybe something should be done, like telling him to stop. I see this is what will probably be done, which is good. It doesn’t require any formal policy change. ---
