True, the dog wasn’t leashed. But this dog is not the…er…type to run away from its owner. Indeed, I think the guy would have been sent to the pokey if he’d just come along by himself, hat in hand. If you still can’t get it, this riddle has an ever-so-slight connection to the other one I posted earlier in the thread. ---
