Anybody got a good riddle, poser or enigma? Post a new one or an old favorite. +++++ There’s a popular supermarket product whose name supposedly comes from the word an employee at the company used to describe its first proposed packaging. Hint: the name of the product is the same as the descriptive word, minus its last letter. What’s the product? ---

Company that went out of biz because its name was thought to be racist when in fact it represented a combination of the two founders’ names? Maybe we should spoiler the answer so the poster doesn’t have to answer later etc.? **Sambo’s** was an American [restaurant chain](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restaurant_chain), started in 1957 by Sam Battistone Sr. and Newell Bohnett in [Santa Barbara, California](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Barbara,_California).[[1]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sambo%27s#cite_note-1) Though the name was taken from portions of the names of its founders, the chain soon found itself associated with _[The Story of Little Black Sambo](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Story_of_Little_Black_Sambo)_ . ---

This surname has five consecutive consonants. Off the top of my head I can think of three unrelated famous people who have it—it’s not exotic. Hint: it could be broken into two ordinary English words. Armstrong…r, m, s, t, r. Neil, Louis, Lance. ---
