# Ridiculous misinterpretations you've made

There used to be a store on my bus route back from work called “The Wide World of Hobbies”. My brain kept wanting to read it as “The World of Wide Hobbits”.  
There’s a salon a little further down the route called Bobo’s. A couple times I saw that as “Boobs”.

Quoting from Lynn Truss’s book on punctuation, _Eats, Shoots & Leaves_: “…many, many people do not [know how to use apostrophes correctly]. Why else would they open a large play area for children, hang up a sign saying “Giant Kid’s Playground”, and then wonder why everyone stays away from it? (Answer: everyone is scared of the Giant Kid.)”

A few years ago, I noticed Denny’s had a campaign to “Buy your spouse a dinner”.

Only problem was, the posters read “Buy your spouse a diner”.

I asked the waitress about it, and she just rolled her eyes. “Corporate…” was all she said, and I nodded knowingly.
