Ridiculous serving sizes

Fair enough. I have to admit I don’t think much about it one way or the other, as I don’t have any need to diet (see my first post in this thread). I eat whatever I want whenever I want and never seem to gain any, only lose. I only look at vitamins etc., occasionally.

I think “per package” and “per gram/100g/oz/whatever” are the best options. In either case, you just multiply the nutrition label by the number of grams or the fraction of the package you will consume. Unless you always eat exactly the suggested serving size, you’ll have to do some math anyway. The label should be designed so that the math is easy and to minimize disinformation on the part of producers.

1 serving is a 1/3-second spray. Says so right there on the label.

As somebody who has never been on a weight-loss diet, I’ve never paid attention to the labels before I came across this thread. When I opened some potato crisps yesterday, I was interested to find out that the serving size was “about 15 chips”. Yeh, right :smiley:
