I saw the All-Star Band last year, and it’s a good show. I’d say one third of the people were there for a specific member of the band (Todd in my case), one third were there because they like Ringo’s music and one third were there to say “I saw a Beatle!”
To an extent. Lots of bands (Rush, for example) split up publishing equally. It keeps everyone happier and avoids some fights over whose songs make the album; they can just pick the best songs instead of fighting for their own to make sure they get paid.
