I’m on the other side of this equation. I loved Andre Braugher in _Homicide_ and appreciated his acting in every other thing I ever saw him in as a result of it. I’ve never seen (or even heard of!) _Brooklyn 99_ – which I now look forward to watching at some point. I am sorry his bright light is snuffed out so soon. Rest in peace, Mr. Braugher. ---

If the first season turns you off, you might want to skip to the second or third season: the show tones down some of the more obnoxious humor by then and really finds a groove. ---

Let me add to the chorus: Brilliant actor, and I will miss having him act. I never watched all of Brooklyn 99, but I found the clips I’ve seen wickedly funny. And, yes, he could do intense, too. I hate hearing about how somebody only aged 61 dies _from a brief illness_. Such as??! All of a sudden, my normal aches and pains are magnified. I knew that crease in my earlobe was a sign of impending doom! (The online rabble are speculating, unfortunately, about vaccines) ---

Could mean he had something like pancreatic cancer that moved rapidly and didn’t present until recently. Or maybe he had a stroke and lingered for a little while. I don’t know. If he had been rushed to the hospital for something in recent weeks I might have heard something through the grapevine and I didn’t. I just found out when he died he was living in South Orange NJ. Strangely enough I had to drive through South Orange today which is not at all usual for me. ---

Such a loss. My wife and I loved him in “Men of a Certain Age,” and his breadth included “Glory,” and Shakespeare (going back to his Stanford U days, after a childhood of borderline poverty). ---
