RIP Betty White

If there is a Great Beyond past this life, I’d like to think that Allen Ludden is waiting outside the pearly gates with a grin on his face: “What took you so long, sweetheart?”

RIP Betty White.

“Why do people say “grow some balls”? Balls are weak and sensitive. If you wanna be tough, grow a vagina. Those things can take a pounding.”

Rest in peace, Ms.White. Thank you for all the laughs.

They do come in threes! Except when they come in fives. Or sevens. Usually prime numbers. Most frequently they come in ones, though. Except for the occasional curveball when they come in twenty-nines. Look out for those.

Sue Ann is finally in Heaven with Lou Grant!

RIP.

Playing Password! rip. She was a great dame!

With Lou, she’s serving Veal Orlov!

NPR’s obituary pointed out that Betty White has been on television since almost the beginning of television.

When someone dies at 99 years and 348 days, and the universal reaction is one of shock, grief, and sorrow, it says an awful lot about that person.

I’ve seen this kind of universal praise and respect for a public figure only once before in recent years, and that was for Neil Peart.

RIP, Betty!

I liked Betty in Lake Placid. “Nibble on Mommy’s toes!”

Lisa Gerritsen? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

RIP messages abound:

John Amos also says, “Hi.”

10 episodes in 5 years and 13 episodes in 7 years respectively.
Not really in the main cast.

Also Joyce Bulifant as Murray’s wife, Marie (11 episodes.) Those are the only actors who appeared in at least 10 out of the 168 episodes.

RIP Betty White.

A true entertainment icon and television pioneer with a good heart, strong work ethic, and razor-sharp wit. She was such a presence in my (and probably your) television-viewing life, I feel like I lost a family member with her passing. The lady was a pro.

The world would be a better place with more people like Betty White.

Aw, nuts. RIP, Betty. :frowning:

2021 was a rough year for the MTM cast. I knew the other actors had died, but didn’t connect them all to one year. Mary died at 80 on January 25, 2017. Betty White was 4th ‘Mary Tyler Moore Show’ cast member lost in 2021

I often watch old episodes of Match Game on Game’s retro block. Betty was a great panelist!

And let us not forget MTM director Jay Sandrich, who also died in 2021.
