The other night I had a dream where I was watching the Soviet version of the Golden Girls. Sophia was Georgian and alternated between praising & complaining about Stalin, Dorothy was wearing some kind of uniform, Blanche slept with Party officials, and Rose was from a collective farm in the Ukraine.
If you pitch that, I bet it would get a run on Netflix!
There are now multiple reports that Betty White suffered a mild stroke six days before her death, and that she ultimately passed in her sleep.
Today would have been Betty White’s birthday, so if anyone wants to participate in the “Betty White Challenge” and donate something to your favorite animal shelter, today’s the day!
Our fundraiser, btw, not counting donations from the website, sent via mail, or given in person, is just $373 short of $10,000. I had set the goal at $2,000 initially, thinking we probably wouldn’t reach it, but… well, all I can say is if I were Betty White, I would be awfully pleased that I had made this kind of impression on people and was making such a difference even after death.
Has anyone seen an approximate nationwide (or, with Canada, North American) total?
