Nothing says “snow day” like a 10 year-old watching The Price is Right.
I never thought much of him one way or another, until I learned he had been schtupping Dian Parkinson - prime among the objects of my childhood lust.
Where I grew up we didn’t have snow so I only got to see it during holidays and summer.
As others are saying, he was one of the “good guys”.
It’s sad that he’s gone.
(With a screen name like “wolf_meister” didn’t you know I’d be a Bob Barker fan?)
My opinion on the matter was, like idealized pets, staid and neutral.
Too bad. I still watch TPIR whenever I can, and I was in the audience for a 1997 episode with Barker and Rod Roddy as the announcer. I’ve been watching ever since the early 1980s.
When my wife told me of Barker’s demise I replied without hesitate, “The price is wrong, bitch!” Having never seen Happy Gilmore, she was a bit confused. I haven’t seen that movie in 25 years, but just remembering Barker kicking Sandler’s ass just cracks me up.
