His death was previously mentioned in the Celebrity Death Pool; Eric 1 liked Osgood’s book Nothing Could Be Finer Than A Crisis That Is Minor. And note that the New York Times can be paywalled–so an additional non-paywalled source is desirable; I mentioned: > **[Charles Osgood, veteran CBS newsman and longtime host of "Sunday Morning,"...](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/charles-osgood-veteran-cbs-newsman-and-longtime-host-of-sunday-morning-dies-at-91/)** > > Often referred to as CBS News' poet-in-residence, the Emmy- and Peabody Award-winner also wrote and anchored "The Osgood File," his daily radio show that ran for more than four decades. ---

Oh okay…I haven’t been reading that other thread. (I’m aware that the NYTimes is paywalled. That’s why whenever I post a Times link, it’s always a gift link.) ---

The radio station my parents listened to when I was growing up was a CBS affiliate, so I remember “The Osgood File” quite well. One that stands out in my mind was when he was riffing on the acronym POSSLQ (persons of opposite sex sharing living quarters) which I think had recently been added as a census option or something. ---
