I thought Roberts was in her sixties. I haven’t seen any reports that she was fighting cancer Her death is quite a surprise to me. I always enjoyed her news reports. ---

I heard about this on Good Morning America. Her parents were both elected to Congress. Her father, Hale Boggs, Sr. was House majority leader. His airplane disappeared over Alaska in 1972 and he was declared missing. His widow, Lindy Boggs, was elected to serve the rest of his term. ---

My first exposure to her was on This Week with David Brinkley, where she was one of the roundtable group along with Sam Donaldson and others. And I saw her on the current incarnation of that show within the last month. ---

I was just thinking about her the other day. I no longer have a chance to listen to NPR early in the morning and so I have been missing her Wednesday segment. I’m sorry to hear she’s passed. RIP Cokie. ---
