[From Covid-19](https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/01/arts/music/ellis-marsalis-dead-virus.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage) complications. Marsalis was the father of a dynasty of jazz musicians, including Wynton and Branford. We saw Ellis play at the New Orleans Jazz Festival after Katrina. He was 85.
