Funny. I never made the connection between Van’s song and Fats. I never really thought about it.

Don’t ask me when I made the connection, it was long after I’ve first known the song, I believe I’ve read it in a book or magazine, but it made instant sense. Van very often pays tribute to his, well, inspirational sources. He used those inspirations better than anybody.

Doesn’t mean much in Van Morrison’s world, he also can pay tribute to William Blake in a blues song. But it’s canon and almost established fact that “Domino” indeed means Fats.[Here’s wiki on it](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domino_(Van_Morrison_song)).
