[Link](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gian_Carlo_Menotti) I’m a bit embarassed to admit I didn’t even know he was still alive. Any fans of “Amahl and the Night Visitors” here? ---

My parents performed in _Amahl_ many times, and lines from it became family in-jokes. I have a vague memory of meeting Menotti one time as a child. ---

The Consul is under appreciated. I have designed lights for two different productions of this and have loved it both times. Mr. Menotti will be missed ---

My Mom was a student of Menotti while he was at Custis Institute in Philadelphia. Amahl and the Night Visitors was a Christmas tradition at our house for many years–wish that it would come back. RIP, Mr. Menotti. He certainly lived a long and very productive life.
