I don’t know how many people here are familiar with her work, or with that of Harvey Pekar, but American Splendor’s Joyce Brabner passed away August 1st. I actually had the privilege of knowing Joyce and Harvey a little, when I sent them an email telling them how much I liked their book Our Cancer Year. We never met in person, but I considered her friend. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.

Aw. Harvey was my favorite guest on Letterman. I saw him once on Coventry road but didn’t say anything.

I loved the movie _American Splendor_ where she appeared in the background with the real Harvey Pekar bits. Re-watched it, I think it was, last year. Still holds up.
