Jazz great [Lionel Hampton](http://www.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/Music/08/31/obit.hampton.ap/index.html) has died. He was 94. And he WILL be missed. (time to pull out my recording of the Goodman Carnegie Hall concert out)

I like the music of Hampton and Milt Jackson. Both great vibraphonists. Now both gone. ☹ But their music will play on. 🆒

I heard this on the radio this morning.

Damn. One of my father’s favorites, and one of mine, too. That man could play the vibes, Lord-Lord. Thank God for recordings.

He was an accomplished drummer, too. A natural musician if ever there was one. He’ll be missed.
