Reed underwent a liver transplant in April. I doubt they would give a new liver to someone doing heroin. And your guess is incredibly insensitive. ---

I can’t say that I know much of Lou Reed’s music, but I’ve never heard anything of his that I dislike. But from what I know about him, modern rock & roll wouldn’t have been the same without his influence on his fellow songwriters. [Let us have 94 moments of screeching chaos in his memory.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-Vy4VRRO30) ---

I was surprised to learn he had only been married to Laurie Anderson since 2008. It’s hard to think of a cooler married couple. ---

> [@WordMan](#): > > I didn’t know your username’s origin. In Lieu of Reading on another site, just shortened it here having no idea I’d stay on. Man, I’m seriously bummed. We became huge fans back in HS and college when experimenting with everything, especially music. [Next page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/rip-lou-reed/672382.md?page=2)
