> [@lieu](#): > > In Lieu of Reading on another site, just shortened it here having no idea I’d stay on. > > Man, I’m seriously bummed. We became huge fans back in HS and college when experimenting with everything, especially music. Okay - had no idea, or that I hadn’t asked. Carrying on - he really did it his way, by all appearances. Some of his music is so soundtrack-accessible to me - Sweet Jane, Walk on the Wildside - and some, well, isn’t. I respect him a lot more than I seek his music out. But damn, I respected him. ---

Shit, this news ruins my weekend. He was one of the key figures in shaping rock’n roll as we know it today, and one of it’s greatest poets. He had the guts to show us the darker sides of life without missing the beauty that lies within them. Though he could be an arrogant asshole, I always had deepest respect for the man. And I’m always willing to defend his singing. I like it. RlP. ---
