Me either. I can’t believe I didn’t notice this thread before. I loved his work so much. "Pierre"was my favorite of all. Terrific story. When Carol King sang it, it was hauntingly beautiful. My husband and I found a VHS tape of Really Rosie about 10 years ago when my daughter was 3. She fell in love with it. What a joy to watch her love what we loved. Man, I think my allergies are acting up, or it’s dusty in here or something.

R.I.P Maurice. I especially loved his interviews by Colbert. He was a no BS guy, and wouldn’t tolerate fools, (and curmudgeonly) but likable because of that.

For me, he joins the ranks of Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein. I’m glad he got to live (and love) to see Spike Jonez’s adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are.
