The Cheerios glued to a piece of paper in the shape of a heart was so perfect in every way. It’s good that the grandwreks all said goodbye. Possum heaven looks a lot like a bucket under the deck, with a cozy nest of cotton seed hulls inside. And lots of Cheerios. ~VOW ---

I’ve been so addled. Grief just wears a body out. I’ve been spelling Haricots name wrong sometimes in this thread and sometimes not. Son-of-a-wrek has promised to find me a baby 'possum, I immediately told him ‘NO’. It wasn’t the fact that Clarence was a 'possum. It was him and his spirit and how he took to me. Another 'possum would never do. ---

I misread that as “Grief just wears a bodysuit” and spent a full five seconds trying to figure out if grief is fashion-forward or stuck in 1972. Of course there’s no other Clarence. You two were clearly a match made in heaven. I have a feeling, though, that another unlikely critter is going to turn up someday and claim you for his or her own. The word is out. ---

They are very cute. There’s a zoo show and a porcupine is a zoo ambassador. He’s very tame with the zoo employees and he allows visitors to feel his quills and give him a treat. Alas, I don’t think porcupines are in Arkansas. ---

That’s sorta how I feel. Except, I had that Rat terrier. She lived 20+ years. Probably 5 years more than I should’ve let her. I just couldn’t do it. She was totally blind and probably couldn’t hear either. I’m proud to say she died in her favorite chair and just went to sleep.
