Cope was the Steelers’ #1 announcer and invented the legendary Terrible Towel. I never did much like watching sports, but Cope’s…er…unique voice has a permanent place in my memories of the Sunday afternoons of a Steelers-loving family. You will be missed, Myron. ---

I was coming on-line to see if word of this was out there. A friend of mine saw a guy at Best Buy wearing a Terrible Towel, presumably in Myron Cope’s honor. Something uniquely Pittsburgh has passed. ---

Often imitated, but never duplicated. I hope Myron is sitting with Art Rooney, smoking cigars and swapping stories. His popularity went beyond Pittsburgh, he was the voice of the Steelers to fans everywhere. ---

Anyone remember the Kennywood commercial with him and John Signa? Or was it someone else?
