Neil Sedaka’s music really defined a generation. Songs like Breaking Up Is Hard to Do and Laughter in the Rain will always hold a special place in music history.
His ability to write catchy, timeless pop songs with such emotional depth is what made him stand out.
He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire artists for years to come.
RIP to a true legend.

Welcome to the SDMB, @kumarneel ! I hope you enjoy your time here.
It’s from the outro to “Love Will Keep Us Together” - in the middle of a bunch of "bah-bah-bah-dah"s, Toni Tennille throws in “Sedaka is back!”
Neil Sedaka was active on YouTube during the early Covid isolation. Perform short unrehearsed, mini-concert on piano and singing.
His piano was quite good. His vocals were affected by his age but it’s still nice hearing him live.
Sedaka’s channel is worth checking out.
His last mini-concert was posted a year ago.
Since then old video of his tv appearances have been posted. Maybe by his staff?
Hopefully the channel will be left up by his estate.

Whoa, we haven’t mentioned “Solitaire”, and the version by The Carpenters.
Here’s an appearance he made with his grandson.
Solitaire is such a beautiful, poignant song. For me, it has to be Neil’s version, though.
I always enjoyed his “Biblical” songs such as “Shadrack” and “Run Samson Run”. (did he have any others in this genre?)
