# RIP Olivia Hussey

It is young. Not to put too coarse a point on the _Psycho_ sequel she was in (she was of course the highlight of whichever one it was), that was about the age my mother died, which I also felt was too young.

I’ll just say it _is_ a young age for an apparently spry person to perish. Not unheard of, of course, but surprising nonetheless.

It’s difficult to imagine Olivia Hussey being so comparatively young…but, she started early in high profile films, and I imagine her striking demeanor and candor kept her in the public eye between film projects, to a large extent.

Per the official actuarial info SSA uses for their calculations, 25.6% of US females are dead on their 73rd birthday and by the time they turn 74 that’s up to 27.3%.

So young, but not wild outlier young. The 50/50 point for women is age 83-1/2.

I remember, on my first play-through of SWTOR, looking up who the voice actors were, and being surprised that there was a well-known name among them. I always liked her character, Yuon Par – if you played a Jedi Consular character, Yuon was your mentor.
