Poachers suck. I saw an article somewhere that they are painting rhino horns and elephant tusks pink to discourage poachers-I hope it works. ---

So…he’s dead now. His horn is worth at least $100,000/kg on the black market. Now, I’m not saying it’s _right_, but I wonder if Ol Pejeta Conservancy could use the money. ---

I think he was long since dehorned in hopes that absence of horn would contribute to his longevity. In the video he has the little stubby horn sort-of intact and the stump of the big one, or at least that’s how it looks to me. ---

I had a recording of the Three Stooges singing the Hippopotamus song when I was young. I’m going to have to find it and destroy it now.
