Err no, it shows that Canada and the US were more selective in their recruitment criteria. The moral of the story is that highly skilled migrants are more likely to do well and pass on good habits to their children. The lack of assimilation in Europe is linked to the lack of skills or ability to assimilate leading to an underclass that creates its own negative culture. I came back to this thread thinking it would be a continuation of Beck’s _ad hominem_ callousness/publicity whoring. Instead, I find the rantings of a caveman: **Chen019** find thread to shat upon. **Chen019** find linky between AUF and Hitler Youth. **Chen019** realize if Hitler Youth bad, AUF maybe bad too and says so. **Chen019** realize that _Nazis brutally occupied Norway_ **Chen019** then realize that he big idiot. **Chen019** cannot stop feeling like big idiot. **Chen019** think long, hard about what to do. **Chen019** realize: “Blame Muslims” **Chen019** gets on dinosaur and warn other cavemen of Muslims. **Chen019** is ignored by other cavemen. **Chen019** is tired of being called “xenophobic” **Chen019** is tired of being called “bigot” **Chen019** think long, hard about what to do. **Chen019** will find other thread. . . . **Chen019** find thread to shat upon. _ad nauseum_ ---

Regarding assimilation of immigrants, immigration is still relatively new to the Scandinavian countries, especially from Muslim countries. Congratulations, the US has a head start. This in no way means that assimilation will not improve over time. Then again, I’d argue that demanding assimilation is wrong, acceptance of the culture you are living in is one thing but you shouldn’t feel forced to act exactly like one of those people. Thirdly, this crap about low education of Muslim immigrants is ignoring the fact that they are largely first generation immigrants. Once the offspring hit the schools here (which by all accounts outperform schools in the US) I’m pretty sure they’ll be just as well educated. I know a lot of the second and third generation Muslims that I have met in my native UK and here in Sweden were. ---
