Uh, I’ve never even heard of a mother that nuts before. I don’t think I could really balem anybody unless she was known to be a violent schizophrenic. And even msot of them are not this mad.

But don’t you understand, schizophrenia is only considered an illness in today’s corrupt, western society. These people, who hear voices and act crazy, are important members of the tribe. They inspire religions.
But actually, I’m guessing severe mental problems, maybe coupled with some PCP. Poor kid.

I feel sorry for the lady. She’s obviously extremely mentally disturbed. I can only hope that her mental state does not allow her to fully comprehend the horror she committed.
IMHO, she should be sent to a psych ward there to spend the rest of her poor life.
I hear cases of post partum depression can cause the person to suddenly act nuts. so I don’t know if the family is to blame.
::sigh:: poor kid. I hope he didn’t suffer.

This can’t possibly be due to schizophrenia, which to ensure we all understand, [is _not_ an illness](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=11374485&postcount=4). Or if the mother _was_ in the grip of a schizophrenic hallucination during which she violently acted out, the consequences should be viewed as a mystical revelation and not a tragedy.

Very, very, very disturbing. The article mentions post-partum depression, but I’m wondering if she chose/had to go off psychiatric meds because of their effects on the fetus. (Mental illness – yet another one of those selfish, non-life threatening reasons some women choose not to carry pregnancies to term.)

Unless this lady was hopped up on some illegal drugs I would have a hard time pushing for the death penalty there. She is clearly fucked up and had no control over herself. What the fuck…
I feel most sorry for the cops that had to check out the scene. I realize it’s their job and they see sick shit all the time but what do you do when you have a kid whose face has been torn off, toes eaten and brains scooped out of their head? Takes a strong person to be able to process that and then go to bed at night. What the fuck…

I have never heard of a mother killing their baby by eating its brains before. Florida is the only state with its own [Fark.com](http://Fark.com) category and it has fewer people than Texas.
