A hundred days had made me older since the last time that I saw your pretty face
A thousand lights had made me colder and I dont think I can look at this the same

It’s a Long Way to the Top (If you wanna Rock and Roll)
Ridin’ down the highway
Goin’ to a show
Stop in all the by-ways
Playin’ rock ‘n’ roll…
**Highway To Hell **
Hey Satan, payed my dues,
Playing in a rocking band
Hey Momma, look at me,
I’m on my way to the promised land …
Thanks for all of the songs! Some of them I knew, others are brand new to me so I’ve gotta find them and put them in my “Road Songs” playlist.
A couple more:
“Beth” by KISS:
You say you feel so empty
That our house just ain’t our home
And “Runnin’ Back to Saskatoon” by the Guess Who lists the names of the places they’d play on the road:
Moose Jaw, Broadview, Moosomin too
Runnin’ back to Saskatoon
Red Deer, Terrace and a Medicine Hat
Sing another prairie tune

Hey, c’mon, folks. Quoting lengthy lyrics is a potential copyright violation, and anyhow is against our rules (whether it’s a copyright violation or not.)
Some of you have been around long enough to know better. See: Rules for Posting on the Straight Dope Message Boards and especially note Post #3; and see Cafe Society: Forum Rules and note Post #2.
The proper way to quote full stanzas is to provide a link to a source that holds the copyright, and to quote a line or two.
I haven’t the time or energy to sort these out. When I thought a quote was too long, I chopped it down to the first two lines that you quoted. If you want to quote other lines, or you think I was unfair in chopping, email me.
Sorry. This was never the intention of my OP. I was looking for song names and artists (although some of the relevant lyrics did help).
Eh. I only quoted as much of the lyrics as were needed to demonstrate it was a “road” song. Fair use says I. If anything, quoting a stanza or two (not the whole song, of course) increases the marketability of the song (inasmuch as it might make people curious or interested enough to go out and buy the song).
Nevertheless, I cop to jaywalking.
