PunditLisa:
Yeah, we were robbed, too. Mr. Pundit went as Senator Larry Craig and I went as a bathroom stall.
Mr. Pundit wore a business suit, with the pants dropped around his ankles. (Well, for 5 minutes, then he couldn’t stand it and put them back on). We powdered his hair, put on some glasses, and made business cards and a name badge that said, “Senator Larry Craig, totally NOT gay.” The clincher: tap shoes that I found on e-bay for $20.
My stall was made out of a refrigerator box that we painted with white enamel paint. We cut out the legs to resemble a stall and painted them with silver paint, then cut out a door to which we affixed a metal door handle. We bought a “MEN’S ROOM” sign from Lowe’s and glued it to the front and a toilet paper holder (including a roll of toilet paper) which we glued inside. We even put a hook and eye lock so you could lock it from the inside. Then we scribbled some graffiti ("For a good time, call Al at xxx-xxxx) using people’s name and phone numbers who we knew were going to be at the party. We brought permanent markers so people could write their own graffiti. It was a hit!
The host of the party, who was the only judge, picked a couple dressed up as Men In Black (black suit, white dress shirt, black tie and sunglasses. That was it.) instead of us.
So I commiserate with you Swampwolf. We’ze was robbed, too!
I gotta ask. PICS PLEASE?
Ask and ye shall receive .
Now, tell me that costume doesn’t take years off my appearance.
Speaking of getting robbed …

**Swampwolf ** - what a superb costume! I’m sure you are not the only one in the office who feels that you got shafted.
**RobotArm ** - that was wicked good too! Creative…I’ve never seen that before.

Yes, please! I want to see some pics of that costume, too.
Robot Arm , that was a great idea. We have some really creative people around here.
For several years we had costume contests at work with some fairly decent prizes (back during the tech bubble) and no matter how good the rest of the costumes were, someone in HR always won. Didn’t seem to be a coincidence that the judges also worked in HR.
I love the Mr. T look and agree that a Michelle Pfeiffer-style Catwoman isn’t old enough to generate much camp appeal; OTOH, a Julie Newmar, '60’s-TV-style Catwoman would be purr fectly delightful, dahling!
