Well, maybe third time will be a charm.

From [article](http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2005/11/18/state/n130738S64.DTL):

> [@](#):
>
> Eight months after Robert Blake was acquitted at a criminal trial of murdering his wife, a civil jury decided Friday the tough-guy actor was behind her slaying. The jury ordered the former “Baretta” star to pay the children of Bonny Lee Bakley $30 million in damages.
> After eight days of deliberations, the jury determined by a vote of 10-2 that Blake “intentionally caused the death” of Bakley

Personally I’d have found him guilty and ordered him to pay a $500 fine for discharging a firearm in the city limits. The woman was first order scum (which is not to imply Blake isn’t a psychotic horse’s ass himself).

There is no question he’s as guilty as OJ, but damn if that post aquital interview wasn’t worth its weight in gold. I mean how do you top this:

Reporter: So do who do you think really killed your wife?
Blake: SHUT UP!

That dude is as crazy as a ballon full of rabid marmosets.

Somebody was obviously not keeping their eye on the sparrow.

That is all I have to say about that.

The jury said they didn’t like the way he came across on the stand; did they really think he was going to try and kiss up to them, he’s least likely to do that. That said, he does give good sound bites.

As good egg says:
**When asked whether Blake pulled the trigger, juror Tony Aldana said, “To this point, who knows. We’re not sure.”
Jurors admit they were swayed by Blake’s combative attitude during his eight days of testimony, when he often lashed out at plaintiffs’ attorney Eric Dubin calling him “chief,”“junior” or “sonny.” At one point, Dubin said he felt threatened by Blake’s responses.
“We believe that Mr. Blake was probably his worst enemy on the stand,” Horn said.**
This srikes me as (with apologies to Monkeymule) batsh^t crazy.
