Robert Morse?

In Fox TV’s THE MUNSTERS movie, he matched Edward Herrmann’s perfect Herman Munster with his own perfect Grampa. I expected to hate it in much the same way I hated that abominable 1980s Munsters series, but they nailed every bit of it!

That’s a real problem with the IMDB and obscure TV shows.

They switched things so that actors are listed for individual episodes. But they don’t automatically put the leading cast members into each episode (and allow users to remove them). So for obscure TV shows, the leads don’t show up on the first page (they do appear under full cast and crew listed as “unknown episodes”). However, guest stars can be added individually. So people will enter their uncle who appeared in one episode (fair enough), and since no one wants to take the time to enter the leads for all 13 episodes they were in, that single episode gives the guest star appearance as one of the leads (since the episodes for the leads aren’t confirmed yet).

It also happens if there’s a big name star that appeared once or twice. Someone like Tony Randall has enough fans for people to go to the trouble of entering his name. It looks like Randall guest starred in two episodes and a fan entered the data, but Morse and Peaker are not listed on the front page because no one has bothered with the tedious task of confirming they were in all episodes.

The IMDB should either put the main cast and crew in every episode (and have people indicate if that’s wrong), or allow users to do it by selecting the actor and giving a list of all the episodes so they can be checked off in one entry. Currently, you need to go to each individual episode and select the actors, and this leads to misleading stuff like the “That’s Life” entry.

Thanks for that. I enjoyed reading those summaries, and I remember seeing some of those episodes. I hadn’t realized there were so many name actors in it, but at the time I might not have recognized them, so I just don’t remember.

I’d like to see That’s Life sometime, too. I’ve seen the clip on YouTube in which Robert and Gloria are having friends over for a party and they’re singing, Reach Out of the Darkness and With a Little Help from My Friends. I’ve read that it won’t be released for awhile or not at all because the rights to the songs sung are too expensive for the DVD companies to afford.

Here is another show I wish would be released on DVD. It wasn’t really a TV show because it was never on TV, just went directly to video. It’s called, The Good Book, with Bible stories acted out as skits, and stars Robert Morse and Marcia Lewis. This should have been on PTL, Odyssey, or TBN. It’s really good!

Three episodes have already been released on DVD (but in 2007 by a company that is no longer in business) and can be found on Amazon.com, but the price may be a little steep right now. The episodes are Daniel in the Lions’ Den, Jonah and the Whale, and Proverbs.

The episode The Prodigal Son can be found every now and then on Amazon and on VHS. I bought the episodes Daniel in the Lions’ Den and Love Letter from Ebay. Sadly, the picture and sound quality aren’t the best on VHS sometimes but after awhile, the picture clears up. There were about 12 episodes made, but only a few are on dvd/vhs. Here is the full list, I think.

Daniel in the Lions’ Den
Jonah and the Whale
Proverbs
Prodigal Son
Adam and Eve
Good Samaritan
Rich Man and Lazarus
Samson
Moses
Noah and the Ark
David and Goliath
Love Letter

The price of The Good Book DVD might be a little steep on Amazon if you want it new, but it is sometimes sold used for a penny, plus s/h.
