Looks like none of the robin family are returning to the nest. I’ll leave it up for a few more days, but I have moved the camera back to its usual spot, staring out at Lake Michigan.
FYI: It took about a month from first nest-sitting to abandonment.

I think you’re right. The alternate name for a Fox Snake is a Pine Snake, and I can recall my Mom showing me one in the yard. She was an unusual Mom – she would pick up a snake and show it to the kids. Good thing none were poisonous.
