Robot Vacuums (Roomba, etc.)

Thanks!

How loud is it? As someone who is home most of the time, and who hates the screech of vacuum cleaners, a noisy device that needs much longer to do its job than an ordinary vacuum would be a big negative.

Best description on loudness is “low to moderate.” Not nearly as loud as a regular vacuum.

I agree not nearly as loud as a regular vacuum. Loud enough to be mildly annoying if you’re in the same room. Not very noticable in another room.

Ok, I just tested my Eufy with the sound meter on my phone, so probably not terribly accurate, but 6 feet away it measured about 60 dB, 20 feet away it was about 50 dB. Ambient noise in the room (with the Eufy turned off) was about 40 dB. (I think the Eufy has a “quiet mode” that makes less noise but takes longer to vacuum, but I’ve never tried it, nor felt the need to.)

Thanks, guys. Two-story house so I can probably manage to be on one floor while the Roomba does the other one.

When I lived in a two story house, I would set off the roomba when I headed to work. Then when I got home it was charged and I took it up stairs to vacuum the second floor. Before I would go to bed I would take it downstairs to charge and be ready for the morning.

We have pocket doors blocking off the living room and kitchen, and close them when the Roomba is running. Most times the only way I know it is still going is when it bumps into walls.
