Rock musicians who went to art school?

**Paul Weller ** of **The Jam ** didn’t go to Art School, but he sang about it…

I don’t know if he went to art school per se, but Klaus Voormann is both an artist (he designed the cover of The Beatles’ Revolver) and a bass player.

Peter Wolf (of the J. Geils Band) spent a lot of time in art schools. At the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts he had director David Lynch as a roomate.

Brian Eno (musician, producer, and artist) attended Ipswich Art School and graduated from Winchester School of Art; much of the original Roxy Music lineup was drawn from those circles as well. Singer **Bryan Ferry ** had been working as a ceramics teacher [!]; bassist **Graham Simpson ** was also at the art school (I don’t know if he was student or faculty); **Andy MacKay ** and Brian Eno were both art students together.

Maynard James Keenan, of Tool, attended both West Point as well as the Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI.
