# Rocks On the Roof

I think the topic on “Why are there rocks on flat roofs?” has to qualify as a minor masterpiece, or classic. Maybe not even minor. The question, which never occurred to me, came from a ten-year-old. The three-part answer was short, extremely concentrated, and full of that “oh, **I** see!” experience. And the final greeting to Mom framed the whole thing. It was the Straight Dope at its simple best.
