Looks like the programmers of GTA: San Andreas decided to put some [spicy stuff](http://news.com.com/ESRB+to+investigate+San+Andreas+sex+content/2100-1043_3-5780374.html?part=rss&tag=5780374&subj=news) into the game. However, they neglected to actually take it out. I don’t know what they were thinking leaving this in. People are going to actively hunt down hidden things like this in game code simply because they haven’t got anything else to do while they scarf cheetohs.
I’ve seen screen shots of the sex scenes and there isn’t any split-beaver, penis-flailing nastiness (the main character doesn’t even get naked from what I’ve seen) but there’s definitely boobies and graphic, interactive sexual actions.
If this is Rockstar’s fault and not a mod-hoax, they will be absolutely crucified.

In some sense they did take it out of the game, as you do need a mod to access this stuff. In the game as distributed (and as examined by the ratings board), you can’t get at it. However, I can’t believe that they didn’t expect people to find this. As I understand it the mod is pretty trivial - it just flips a single “censorship” bit.

This is the game where you can pay a hooker to have sex with you, then run her over with your car and take the money back, yes?

Yep. You don’t always get your money back, but you’ll get some.

</div>

Crucified? I’ll be shocked if I can buy a copy by this weekend…

And realistically it was all but removed from the game. This wouldn’t be the first time that someone accidently left content in the game distribution they shouldn’t have and its never really had a long term impact on anyone in the past…

If anyone mods the game, and then tries to bring a lawsuit regarding the ‘sexual content’, surely Rockstar can just bring a counter-suit because modding is, in the terms of the EULA, not legal?

I’ve long believed that looking for porn in a goddam console game isn’t just scraping the bottom of the barrel, it’s breaking through the barrel and digging a mile down. This little revelation has done nothing to change that belief.

Oh, and boobies w/o anything below the waist = _failed attempt_ at porn. Don’t even try to argue me on this.

I don’t think Rockstar has anything to worry about. They’ve survived worse.

Yeah, this is a game about killing and robbing hookers (hell, killing and robbing cops while we’re at it) and all other kinds of mischief and illegal activity in order to achieve, but throw some boobies in there and NOW there’s a problem? tsk tsk…

Does Wal-Mart carry this game? I would tend to doubt it, but if they do, this could push it off the Wal-Mart shelf. Or other games published by Rockstar.

And that is a HELL of a lot worse than a lawsuit or government action.

You can’t fight the little company from Arkansas.

I don’t think they carry it. AFAIK, Wal-Mart doesn’t sell games that have the MA rating, jsut as they don’t sell CD’s with the explicit lyrics warning. I could be wrong, though, seeing as I don’t but video games from Wal-Mart I’ve never really checked.

Maybe I was just too young, but I don’t remember a big brouhaha over the Naughty Dog nude code in the ancient “Rings of Power” game for SEGA Genesis. Turn the game on, hit the right buttons, and _voila_, topless pixellated woman. The code was even published in a popular gaming magazine, making it accessible to gamers everywhere. Easter eggs like this have cropped up in computer and console games repeatedly; GTA isn’t really breaking new ground in this case.

Interesting. They do sell “Unrated” versions of DVD films(e.g.- _Anchorman- The Unrated Version_).

Wal-Mart sells Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas. They also sell other M Rated games like Bloodrayne.

_Game Players_, I know they had it. Must’ve been around '94, '95.

Great magazine, _Game Players_.

Are there any other cases of things being snuck into video games that shouldn’t have been that have been widely reported? I can recall a PlayStation Tiger Woods golf game that, if put in the PC, had the original “Spirit of Christmas” short that inspired _South Park_ somewhere on the disc. I also believe someone from Maxis was fired for putting gay men in the celebration at the end of the level of _SimCopter_ (this was changed in later releases to a marching band, which is what it was supposed to be).

It appears that beating hookers and cops and taking their money was fine, but add a little pr0n into the mix, and you get a load of [Hillary](http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/07/13/news_6129021.html)

I don’t get this. GTA: SA was rated “M”. For comparison, Playboy: The Mansion, which apparently also has boobs was ALSO rated an “M”. So why should Rockstar be in any hot water? How can you say that GTA: SA had to have an “AO” rating when another game with a similar nudity element gets an “M”?

[More info on this egg.](http://www.eeggs.com/items/351.html) I still remember the hubub about it when it came out—and I never even played the game!

Because you apparently have a mini game where you are actually having sex. A bit more than boobies.
