I can usually separate the art from the artist, but I often have less interest in the music after they’ve shown themselves to be insufferable assholes. I can still jam out to Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” but cringe a little when I hear “PYT (Pretty Young Thing)”. ---

Even worse is when you’re at a concert and can’t flip the channel. Ever been a captive audience while a Roger Waters drones on? Saw Neil Finn, in the middle of Trump’s last campaign, and all he said was "This next song has the line _‘They come, to build a wall between us.’_ I’d like to dedicate this song to your President, and remind him that the next line is _‘You know that they won’t win.’_ [applause over opening ‘Maori strum’] Twenty seconds, got the point across, back to work. ---

I’ve been told that during his concerts he will release a giant pig shaped balloon with a large Star of David printed on it, which seems to cross a line into anti-Semitism imho. ---

If this is true, of course it would cross the line into antisemitism by a wide margin, and I’m disgusted by the thought. If he pulls this shit in Germany, he maybe could even be arrested. ---

Not directly targeted at Jews or the Jewish faith but I can easily see/understand someone being offended by it. ---

I went to a concert once with my wife, it had a pretty good lineup of bands. And it had the band Candlebox. When Candlebox took stage, that was our cue to go get something to eat and use the restroom. Even today, we use the term “Candlebox” as a signal that there is not much going on and we can take a break from whatever we’re doing. I think if Waters was at a concert and wanted to rant, it would be Candlebox time. (Candlebox isn’t terrible, it’s just not that interesting, especially when we had bands like Offspring, Alice in Chains, and Chevelle performing.) ---
