Roll call: Northern California Dopers!

I’m an East Bay native, and have lived here most of my life except for a few years in San Francisco.

Tri Cities originally (actually, only since the 70’s), although my wife and I lived outside Olympia for a while before moving again down here to NorCal about 3 years ago. So, I guess I consider myself a Washingtonian transplant - at least to differentiate myself from other California natives or transplants from elsewhere in the country.

For those of you who may not be completely familiar with WA state - the Tri Cities is in the southern part of the state, near the OR border, and it’s dry & hot in the summer, dry & cold in the winter, and just dry & dry at other times.

I’ve been in the Bay Area since 1982. Currently El Cerrito. Lovely weather we’re having isn’t it?

Me and Tiltypig live in Albany, just on the North Berkeley border.

Eureka here. I have to echo honeydewgrrl - SF hardly counts as “Northern” to the folks up here.

Before moving up here a couple of years ago, I lived in San Francisco for about 8 years.

You’re leaving? :frowning:

Northern California born & raised, moved down to the Bay Area when I turned 18. Moved around a lot til I was 25, but always ended up coming back here. In Niles for the last 10 years.

Currently living in Richmond Annex, howdy neighbors!

Born in Stanford before they disincorporated and became Palo Alto again (Stanford Hospital). Lived in Sunnyvale til about 6 months old, then moved to Scotland for two years. Came back to Sunnyvale, then moved to Saratoga, where I stayed until my senior year of high school, which I spent in Germany. After that I was in Berkeley 5 years, then Santa Cruz for another year or so. Then a couple years away in NoCal and Vermont, now I’m back and lived in Oakland a couple years before moving to where I am now. Whew!

So, yeah, Bay Area girl here. Nice to meet y’all.

Born in Martinez, lived in Pittsburg, now in Concord, work in Martinez. Travel into SF occassionally to stare at the ocean.

Born in south San Jose and stayed there through HS. Then bounced around the Bay Area and even lived in Hawaii for awhile.
Now my fiance and I live in Morgan Hill.
We are home bodies but travel to Sacramento every other weekend to pick up her son for visits and usually take random ways home to stop and eat or shop or just chill.

::waves to teela brown::

Although I now live in Virginia, I’m a native Californian. I was born in San Diego, and went to high school in Ukiah in Mendocino County. My parents are both living in Virginia now too, but they are might-as-well-be-native Californians also. My mom’s family moved to San Diego (actually Harbison Canyon) when she was 6 months old. My dad was born in Oklahoma, but his family moved to California when he was 4. He spent his childhood in numerous cities up and down California – Templeton and Paso Robles are two I can remember right now – and his family ended up in Rohnerville (now incorporated into Fortuna) in Humboldt County. My brother and his wife have recently moved from San Diego back north to Willits.

I was born there, too, although unlike you my family never left Palo Alto. I did go away to school because I wanted someplace that was foreign, exotic, and unfamiliar . . . so I ended up at UCLA.

Aside from the time spent there and the 18 months I lived in a Colorado ski town, I’m a Bay Area local, through and through. Heck, I’ve never lived in the East, North, or South Bays, just Palo Alto, San Francisco, San Mateo, and now Redwood City.

So you could say I’m a . . . Peninsular? That sounds more like an adjective, “You think a place where a starter home will go for at least $800,000 is a great place for families? How very Peninsular of you!”.

Let me work on that.

Grew up in San Diego, moved to Berkeley to go to college. Moved around the Bay a bit, currently living in San Francisco. I’m never living anywhere else.

For fun? You’re reading it. (OK, I read books, too. And watch movies, sometimes. Sex is fun.)

Live in Fremont, work in Sunnyvale. Exiled here in the spring of 1996. I am and always will be from New York. But the Bay Area beats LA, got to give it that.

Fun? Our last kid just left for college back East, so we got plenty of fun of all types.

There was a DopeFest in San Francisco a bit back, but I agree it’s time for another one.

I’m in Oakland. My mother moved us here when I was 13. Went away for College dropped out then did a stint in the Army. Lived in Washington state for a while, then came back here. The wife was born and raised right here in Oakland. By this time next year I will be living in Stockton or Sacramento area.

San Francisco native but lived much of my life in the East Bay.

Newbie at the board, but lived in San Francisco 25 years.

Did I mention mortgaged to the eyebrows?

Welcome to the boards

What is the interest rate for an eyebrow these days?

I just moved to Redding about four months ago from Rochester, MN. I moved here to be with my fiance. I like it so far, but I work at home, and I need to find some sort of activity to get out and meet people.
