Last night I first heard about this digital version of every issue for the last 40 years. It was part of a PBS fundraising package giveaway at the $300 level but looks to be available separately for about $80. Does anybody have it? ---

Looks like there is something comparable for Playboy magazine. I’m curious as to how searchable it is. ---

…and _MAD_, and _The New Yorker_… This is great news for music fans, because using the search function (it’s gotta have one, right?), one could readily locate those increasingly rare, miniscule bits of writing about _actual music and musicians_. ---

I was referring to the decline of RS as a music-oriented mag. Exactly when and how gradually that happened I don’t know, but when I was a subscriber in the mid-'90’s, I was often repulsed by the extent it had become a print equivalent of MTV… which also has precious little interest in actual music or musicians these days. ---

[/QUOTE] _Rolling Stone_ ceased being interesting or relevant in the early/mid-'70s. It’s been trendy pablum ever since, getting progessively worse with every passing decade. Hell, that sounds like a description of the entire country. ---

Santa was good to me. The software took quite a while to install but once installed it works great and is amazing to have all of that content at your fingertips!! Well worth it !!
