The only reason I ever read the magazine was for the P. J. O’Rourke articles.

I dumped my subscription back in '87 or so… RS had been going downhill for sometime, but when they started putting perfume sample ads in, that was IT.

And exactly what is it that you’re doing in this thread?

I used to think RS was tolerable. Lots of crap (a Def Leppard album gets 4 stars?!?) but you’d find the occasional Hunter S. Thompson piece or some other worthwhile nugget. Now if I’m in a waiting room with a stack of magazines I’d grab a _Reader’s Digest_ before a _Rolling Stone_.

Jeezus, that makes me sound absolutely geriatric _and_ pathetic.
