# Rome in June: pros and cons?

What’s up with the idea of Italian men following women around and hooting at them? Is it really true? Another thread mentioned men particularly being enamored of blonde women. I am fat and plain so I wouldn’t worry about it personally but it would make me uncomfortable to be in an environment where that is happening around me.
So what’s the Dope?

I went to Rome last September (a great time to go climate wise) and no one followed me or hooted. I was gutted. ☹ There really are a very handsome bunch of people, that much is true IMO. I’m dark and but my friend has long blonde hair but niente.
Generally speaking. I’d go to Rome anytime at all. Fabulous place. And not to make the OP undecisive again but Scotland at the time of year may very well be extremely wet and quite cold.

It has been greatly exaggerated, but quite a few Italian men do like to express their appreciation for a good looking woman. Only a few, and in any case here it is usually considered rude to pull the moves on an accompanied woman. Following them around? Not so much; at least, not more often than I saw it happen abroad.

Well, I was in rome in June two years ago, and I found it almost unbearable in the middle of the day, but I have really low heat tolerance. I would probably recommend saving it for later like you did, but hey, what do I know?

I was in Rome once in April, and then a few years later in February. Even in April it was cold by my Southern California standard.
But the quickest answer to the OP is that there is no downside to visiting Rome, winter spring, summer, or fall. It is such a marvellous place that you should never pass up the chance to go. If you’ve got the time and money, you should absolutely go.
