In case anyone didn’t read the links, he didn’t hogtie the dog directly to the roof-- The dog was in a crate, and the crate was tied to the roof. Which is still a stupid thing to do, but not nearly as evil as “tied a dog to the roof” would suggest. ---

This was stupid when we thrashed it out a few months ago, and it’s stupid now. This is like the garbage about Romney being a Mormon - those who are peddling it on the SDMB don’t give a shit about it, but they hate Republicans and will keep slinging shit and see if any of it sticks. There is nothing abusive about putting your dog in a dog carrier, and claiming that doing so raises questions about someone’s character or judgment is an admission that there is nothing substantive to object to, so just make things up and see if a scandal can be manufactured. To hell with the dog, my impression of Romney’s character and judgement hinges more on his support of torture and his willingness to deny them due process. Things like “guilt” and “innocence” are for us bleeding hearts. His cruelty to animals pales in comparison.
