It’s been 2 weeks and no one has posted this, so I thought I would. [Ron Carey dead at 71](http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/19/arts/television/19carey.html?ex=1326862800&en=94701204f3a1d813&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss) Loved him as Officer Leavitt on _Barney Miller_ . And who can ever forget **High Anxiety** : “I got it…I got it…I got it…I don’t got it!” Here’s hoping you finally got it, Ron. ☹ ---

I didn’t know about this. Thank you for posting. Barney Miller was one of my favorite prime time shows back then. ---
And yet, **Abe Vigoda** is still [alive](http://www.abevigoda.com/)
Abe Vigoda will never die. And when he does die there is an army of Abe Vigoda backups standing at the ready, waiting to be unleashed on an unsuspecting world. ---

Along with Steve Landesberg, Carey was one of the two cast members of _BM_ who appeared as a one-episode criminal before being recast as a full-time officer. Didn’t know him from anything else, but it was my favorite sitcom growing up. RIP. ---
