How can you not respect a man who was _that_ successful in porn while being _that_ ugly!? He deserves to have his picture in the dictionary next to the word ‘irony’! 😃 ---

The documentary about him _[Porn Star - The Legend of Ron Jeremy](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0282856/reference)_ goes quite a way towards explaining his appeal. The fact that he’s such an ordinary schlub helps some men more readily imagine themselves in his position. He has sex with these women _for them_. Interestingly, the thing many of the starlets praise is not his dick, but his skill at cunnilingus. That’s terrible. All these penis jokes at the expense of a 59 year old man in the ICU. That’s the problem with being famous the way he is, I guess. As I’ve read, he’s an easy man to know, but a hard man to like. How long has he got? Or more optimistically, how long of a shot has he got? He’s come too far to drop off at the end here. ---

Wasn’t he the guy who was on the same reality show as Tammy Faye (Bakker) Messner? I heard they became friends, and that he even attended her funeral when she died from cancer. ---

His persona is that of a Catskills _[tummler](http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/tummler)_, constantly “on”. Physically she decayed – I saw her on TV when she had cancer, so skinny it was hard to believe she was the same person – but spiritually/morally/emotionally she seems to have improved. ---
